In the lead-up to National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, schools throughout the Sea to Sky School District will be holding ceremonies at each school site. These ceremonies are dedicated to honouring survivors, remembering those who never returned, and reflecting on the ongoing legacy of Residential Schools. We encourage all members of our school communities to take time for reflection and learning during this important period of reconciliation. Take action and be part of the journey. Sea to Sky Community Services is launching an important initiative focused on gathering insights from families, youth, and service providers in the Sea to Sky region. The goal is to better understand the barriers to accessing services for children and youth with either diagnosed or undiagnosed disabilities and/or diverse abilities who need support to participate meaningfully in family and community life. A major focus of the project is to identify areas where we can improve access and inclusion. Please see the linked flyer for more information and a link to the survey.

All of B.C.’s provincial education partners for K-12 schools, joined by Minister Rachna Singh, are standing together in solidarity to ensure every school is a place where all students feel welcome, included and respected in a safe learning environment while being fully and completely themselves.
